Much as I wanted to say something about GMA's State of the Nation Address, I don't see a need for it. When she came out with that I'm sorry statement, I don't consider her as the President of the Philippines. As a Political Science graduate, I can not reconcile the fact that Philippines, considered as the showcase of Democracy in Asia, have someone for a President who actually did not acquire the position of Presidency by way of the accepted democratic process.
But one thing that I can't understand up to this time is how can people like you and the rest of the filipinos especially in Manila, can tolerate such a gross trampling of your democratic rights and the guilty parties are not behind bars. Easily, by the the statements of an individual like Chavit Singson, who I think is one of the most corrupt politician in the Philippines, a fact which he does not even deny, Manilenans have ousted Erap because they believed on Singson's pronouncements. On GMA's case, she admitted the wrong doings herself on national tv, and if I will compare the two situations, I would say that stealing the Presidency by rigging the elections which for me is the foundation of democracy, is a far greater offense than what they charged Erap. How can FILIPINOS even stand looking at her in the tv more so listening to what she says when she is a fake?
