What's New Today - July 16, 2007

Good Morning! It's Monday morning, here, first day of the work-week.

Featured in today's blog is the municipality of Vinzons . I didn't realize that Vinzons has produced the most number of priests, nuns, and provincial politicians until I read this from Wikipedia. I found some beautiful pictures of Vinzons from the internet and I added them to our photo gallery. It would be better though if we have original pictures from our members, so the non-DPS 67 blogsite visitors will find something new. In preparation for our special feature of Paracale, please send old and new pictures, as well as valuable information about the municipality. Bakit pala mas maraming Guinto sa Vinzons kaysa Paracale?

I hope you'll find some time to read the speech of Bill Gates. Until I came across his speech, my only idea of Bill Gates was that of a nerd who made it big and is now the richest man in the world.

Lastly, I'm posting Ed's hilarious post about the parents writing a letter to their son who is an ideal student(!). Very funny, yet sad because there are many pinoy parents who really work hard to send their children to school, yet nagloloko lang ang mga ito.

Toti,

Bakit maraming Guinto sa Vinzons kaysa Paracale? Kasi ang mga Guinto galing or taga Vinzons.

Eleanora Fagan, AKA Billie Holiday (1915)

Despite a deeply troubled upbringing, Holiday became one of the most celebrated and influential singers in jazz history. She was also one of its most tragic figures. She debuted in the 1930s and, after performing with Benny Goodman, Count Basie, and Artie Shaw, embarked on a successful solo career. However, she suffered many personal setbacks, complicated by the drug addiction that eventually destroyed her career and hastened her death. How did she choose her stage name? More... Discuss
