Hello classmates,

Fechie, thanks for reconnecting with your old classmates. If you remember me, I am Violeta Fermo Heraldo, got married in 74 and blessed with 2 children, a boy and a girl plus a grandson from my son. I worked with Toronto Dominion Bank for 32 years. I was offered an early retirement with a good package which I took, but right now i am back working w/ them as contractual, my manager won't let me go.
Last year my husband and I went home too and saw some of our classmates. We saw Yoly, Remo, Dorset, Ramona and others.
It would have been nice to see you all again but I can't promise that I can attend because of commitments. But I will try my best and see if I could have a vacation even for just two weeks.

It was nice hearing from you and I hope others from this list will take time to reconnect with me too.
I've been in Canada for 33 years now, can you imagine that? I've been here longer than in Philippines, how time flies eh? pero sexy pa rin..kahit grandma na he he ..I attached a picture of me and my hubby...pareho kaming sira ulo kaya okey lang..Enjoy life na lang while we are still young .di ba?
We would like to retire in Daet so much that we bought a couple of lots in Calasgasan from Happy Homes subdivision. we plan to build a house in the near future.

Anyway, thanks again and please keep in touch. Our phone # is 905-567-8221 and my address is
5639 Rivergrove Ave.
Mississauga, Ontario
Canada L5M 3V8
Your classmate,
Violeta

Dear Violeta,

Hey, I saw your picture with your husband and I would say you look great - considering you're a grandma now. You're lucky you have grandkids. I don't and I tell you I gained that 2 pounds, too. He he.

Take care classmates!

Violeta,

Now I know whom to call when I go to New Market. Nice to know that you are active in the fight against the closure of our beloved Parochial.

Have worked in Ottawa (National research Council) and Toronto (International Development Research Centre) in the 1980's for 3 to 6 months. OK lang. I still have some friends in St Catherine, Toronto and some relatives in Vancouver. Masarap sa Vancouver BC. Hugssssss.

thanks violeta. ang galing naman, a happy family indeed! How long have you been there in Canada? I went there once in november-december 1991, quite a long time ago, for an 18-day trip which brought me from east to west, starting from Prince Edward Islands or somewhere in the fishing villages of nova scotia, moving on to toronto, then winnepeg, regina, calgary, and finally vancouver. I was with an NGO then, and a Canadian group funded a project here in the Philippines, I was with two other Filipino NGO members, and we participated in the sharing of experiences in NGO work in the Phils, Canada, Mexico, and South Africa. We had to attend fora of different sectoral groups in Canada.

I was a heavy smoker then, so I enjoyed it most when I stayed in the house of a chain-smoking labor leader in one of the places. The house was topsy-turvy, books and newspapers scattered all around the sala, unwashed dishes in the sink, but I was free to smoke as long as I wanted to.

We just stayed in a place for two or three days, then board a plane for another place. I didn't have a camera yet at that time, so I
didn't even have any picture of my only experience seeing snow all around, or of the lighthouse and seagulls in nova scotia, the niagara falls, and many other interesting places. They're all in the mind now, walang ebidensya. sayang!

K, Will send you the CD soon.

iyo na ngani, sabi ko na nga ba..I definitely remember Judge Heraldo's family! they're known and well-respected in the town. (obviously, you made the right choice!)please say Hi to him and hope next time we all can meet..though he probably won't remember me. I stayed/ studied most of the time in Daet than in Paracale during those times..

I'm familiar with the other Heraldo's there too-like Nick Heraldo, the former teacher at PHS, and the late Levi Heraldo, my
godfather.

cheers,
Bert

Dear Bert and Violeta,

Your families look great! Hope someday we meet them.

Speaking of Paracale, I was born there but grew up in Daet. My family came from Paracale. Visited Paracale only during summertime. We have a lot of relatives over there. Met a very nice lady (Myrna Navera) when one meeting was held in Paracale. I was the Provincial Secretary of SCA (Student Catholic Action). The officers used to travel around Camarines Norte with Fr. Imperial, Do you know her Bert? She was about our age then. About the Heraldos - my parents had compadre and comadre - don't know which Heraldo. My older siblings had best friends who are Heraldos, too.

Violeta (Didn't I call you Neng or Neneng? Don't remember calling you Violeta). I remember when we were in High School - we (Glen, Susan, Marybeth and Chichi) would go to your house to invite you over for a party and your Mom had so many questions before she would allow you to come! Remember that?

Those were the days, huh.

Regards to your families.

Hello, Men,

tingnan mo nga naman.. Myrna Navera was my elementary classmate at PES.! We were very close up to Grade 6..but when I transfered to DPS during HS and we seldom had contacts (except on special occasions in the town).

I last saw her in the 80's in Manila and when I formed a small band in '85 -86 (as a hobby) i took her as a "musical consultant". she's a pianist and also a great dance director or artist..if you recall.but since then, sadly, i got no more news about her.

Paracale is such a small community. Like every small town, everyone knows everybody.
We had a famous congressman, the legendary Totoy Venida. He was idolized in Paracale back then..He must be your uncle or something?..

Haay, dakul pa kitang ma gigirondom when we see each other..

cheers,
Bert

Hi Bert,

Small world ha? Remember my tukayo as one jolly person. She was a good singer too. Totoy Venida was my uncle - youngest brother of Papa. Talagang marami tayong pag-uusapan at gigiromdomon. My Bicol is very poor. My family did not speak Bicol in the house - we spoke Tagalog Paracale kaya at school hirap akong umintindi ng Bicol. Learned to speak the dialect when I studied in Manila pero hindi pa rin fluent. My husband is from Sorsogon so ibang Bicol dialect na naman.

So long and God bless. Regards to the family.
