Hi Toti,

My Lips are Sealed (MLAS)....some people kiss and tell, others kiss and don't tell. Me...no kiss and no tell. Check the fotos, he, he, he (walang seryosohan ha?). Both Danny and Men (VTT members) were inquiring about these vignettes while Skyping with me minutes before I left for the airport. I guess maraming skeletons in the closet that we need to uncover (do we need to?). Perhaps just for fun...He, he, he. Just kidding guys!

Sayang nga eh kasi na miss namin kayong mga wala doon. we really had a grand time reminiscing.

So Bert, ilan ba sila na prino-pose mo? Di bale, smart na, gwuapo at gigolo pala! (Joke only.)

Cute ka kasi that's why napag-tsi-tsismisan.

Take care.

waaah! lagot ako.. after 40 years nag compare notes and aking mga G.O.M. (girls of my dreams)..

bako man dakol, men. duwa sana kamo who turned my life upside down then..he..he.. - one at a time..
in a span of three years ('63- '67). so it wasnt so bad..

kaya lang, as my friend barry manilow crooned,
.."i had the right love at the wrong time.'.. so no luck in both..!

nevertheless, those times were moments of getting inspired (and "distracted") for the first time in one's life..

even after 40 years there's some thrill remembering...

cheers,
Bert

Ok boss, if you say so. I know you're the CEO, so you really are the BOSS!
Seriously, I was flattered, you're one of the brains in our class and I've always admired brainy boys. Sorry for the revelation, kasi naman si Rudy started it. Can you accept my Mea Culpa, please? Hehehe

Fechie,

Yong ligawan before hanggang sulat at titigan lang diba? Marie, nothing to worry about. Ikaw ang true love ni Bert and looking at Bert ngayon, he is a picture of a VERY HAPPY MARRIED MAN!

Bert, there was a saying ng matatanda, pag puro babae ang anak mo, may pambayad daw. See, tatlong boys ang anak mo plus Bruce (ang cute naman) , so walang babayaran diba? Hahaha!

Take care.

Fechie,

Bert and I were in Ateneo de Naga until 1972. I was ahead of him (1967). He enrolled a year after. Bert is an ex-con, if you didn't know. Yes, he's an ex-convent. So, there were five of us who were in Naga at that time. Tess was in UNC, you were in Sta. Isabel, while Bert, Fely Jacobs, and myself were in Ateneo de Naga. But in all those four to five years, we didn't see you and Tess.

Reading the e-mails of Toti, Bert and now Fetchie - at least we are slowly finding out what they were doing and where they were after graduating from high school 40 years ago.

In my first 2 years in San Beda, that was before I became an activist fighting american imperialism (look where I'm now) -I frequented Maning Abogado's boarding house in CM Recto. That's where I saw Dra. Yoly a lot. In fact, she introduced me to a beautiful classmate of hers named Winnie. Dra. Yoly - see I still remember this! I also frequented Ate Marynat's dorm and she also introduced me to another beautiful dorm-mate of hers named Aurora. By the way, this was a period where me and Edmundo Rios became a "rival", sort of. Of course during that period, I was also in constant communication with Marybeth kasi mahihiyain iyong isang taga Daet na kaklase namin ni Toti sa Elementary, kaya ako ang tulay. Marybeth, re-act naman diyan, he,he. Napakasayang isipin ng mga panahon na iyon! Wala pang Martial Law that time.
Ano Alot, anong say mo? Tony and I where together in College. We see and talk a lot to each other before his untimely death. I was really devastated then because he was in a very happy relationship with a nice girl. I don't know if you knew this, but he died on his sleep in his girl friend's house. It was Easter Sunday and he decided to stay there because they will go to church together that morning. Sad! When his remain was brought to Daet, by train, I together with a driver, went to Sipocot to bring him to Daet. Sabi ko sa kanya that time, huwag mo akong kakausapin. Madilim dito sa Bitukang Manok. It was at night. Tama muna, next time ulit. I need to load my things.

Hello Danny,

Aray! Bull's eye. I think I'm the guilty one. Ok here I am, if not for Fechie's request to flood you with emails so to keep your senses intact. Danny that's a long drive, are you sure you are alone. I doubt it, maybe from New York to Chicago you are with Marilou's family but how about the in between. Good boy ka na ba Danny?

The last time that I was in Orlando, we took an airplane from Orlando then we flew to Washington. From Virginia we drove to New York then took another airplane to Chicago. So I could just imagine how long your journey is. Anyway, safe trip and take care.

You know during our college days. Tony, Cynthia and I were always together. Once in a while we go out of town. Tony was a dorm mate of my cousins so they often ate in the house. He loved to eat in the house especially pag ang ulam namin ay gata at alimango. He didn't mention to me that you were in the same school. In fact the time that he died I attended his wake for 2 consecutive days. Ba't kaya tayo hinde nagkita.

Regards to the family.

Hi Alot,

I'm always a good boy. Nagdududa na ako niyan, he he. Anyway, when Tony died, I was in Daet. So instead of me attending the wake in Manila, I decided to wait for his remains to be brought to Daet. Kaya ako ang pinakiusapan ni Angel Serra, Sr. to go to Sipocot and bring him to Daet. Ang malas naman. Hindi tuloy tayo nagkita., until March of 2007. 40 years iyon ah!

Insan - pag may pagkakataon, I will open up my skype para makipag chat saiyo.

Toti - again, thanks for making us feel young at heart again, naks!

To Tess, Bert, Rudy, Ed, Irma, Violy, Rori my friend - keep on posting your messages. We have so much to know from each other after all those years of nakakabinging katahimikan.

Hi Alot,

TY for your paramdam, sana dalas-dalasan mo naman. Tess was really funny and I couldn't believe it when Fechie told me about her speech at nang-gillette pa pala, sabi daw ni Rios may evidence pa siya (peklat). Still waiting for Joe to call me - he was supposed to go to SF today (Saturday) to pick up the VCD and the pasalubong from you and Tess. Thanks again.

About going back early, Danny, Joe and I were planning on going home early (February 2008) we were so inggit about the reunion that we got so excited and cannot wait until 2009. Will let everybody know when it is definite. How about joining us Irma, Marybeth, Herminia, Violeta, Allan, Fechie, Ed and Mr Aviator (where are you? Don't tell us you are in the air all this time because we won't believe it, unless you are in outer space!)Hehehe.

Fechie, think we're done counting Bert's GOM, Now let's start with Danny - there's Winnie, Aurora, Ehem, another Ehem - Insan how many more?

Danny, speaking of Tony - miss him very much. we were very close even when we were in elementary - he was my cousin too. we used to talk about almost everything. when we were in manila, we used to go outing with cynthia and boying. we used to talk on the phone all the time. when he passed on, he was going to attend cynthia's brother's funeral that sunday. was at his first night wake with chichi, joe s., joe zano and rey rafer. i always remember him and always pray for him especially on his birthday- october 13. we used to have parties at his house during his birthday and his grandma would always show pictures of her world trips, remember? another person i miss too is Cynthia (she was another cousin), loved her dearly - how i enjoyed her birthday (January 2) parties. it was like a holiday, you are obligated to attend otherwise she won't talk to you for a week if you don't. while writing this, it comes to mind the song Toti chose for the cd -" there are places i remember, all my life, though some have changed"- Insan, i'm waiting for the continuation of your story. take care.

ikaw ha, binibisto mo ko .. dalawa lang sana and score ko, ngayon naging tatlo na.! he..he..
you mean our neighbor at Bagumbayan St, (very near AdeN U) who studied at CSI, who played the piano well and who had curly long hair and who was always well-dressed, and had a nice smile? naah, i don't recall a thing about that at all ....he..he..

but come to think of it, a total of THREE crushes during ' 63- 72- in a span of 9 years - definitely makes one ultra conservative..! if boboy ong would hear this, he would accuse me of being a monk!

anyway i'm sure you'll find or boboy's or danny's or ed rios's teen-age exploits and adventures more interesting! paging the spy's..we want to hear your reports, ha..ha..

fechie
you were at sta. isabel during those years '68-72?
toti and i never had a hint, otherwise your internship might have been cut short !..
seriously, that was a good school (still is) and im sure the combination of dps/csi foundation
helped you in your career. in naga, (i'm sure you were aware) there was always either competition or mutual admiration or fondness between ateneo and CSI students, maybe somewhat just like ateneo de manila vs maryknoll (in those days) in manila.. (no offense, meant, tess, unc is definitely a good school as well, kaya lang malayo sa aden u, kaya wala masyadong bonding betw the two.. mahal pa ang pamasahe sa trycicle at madalang and karitela!)

me, an ex-con?
toti 's right . not many of you knew that right after graduation I joined /entered the seminary (St. Paul's) here in Makati ('67-68). reason? i wasnt really sure and you wont be interested...
..anyway suffice to say that my stay there, though short was 'nourishing', but as it was written, "many are called, few are chosen". and obviously i belonged to the "many" group.. amen.
