Finding the Elusive Ms MaryNat

April 16

Hi everyone! Finally, after years of trying to locate Marynat, Boboy got her cell phone number and landline. Boboy should have worked with the NBI, instead of the Department of Education. Marynat is wondering how Boboy got her contact numbers. Alot was the first to call her. I sent her a text message and she called me back. Si Marynat nga! So let's all welcome her, I already added her to our egroup. I'm sure she'll have a hard time reading all of the messages already posted, and reviewing the pictures posted. Congrats Boboy for a job well done!

Bert, six
packs of 12 beers per pack for Boboy is a measly sum for a lady called MaryNat (ehem, ehem, ehem). She is definitely a great catch! I called her immediately as soon as I got her cell number from Toti. Really cool chitchat, we compressed 40 years in 20 minutes. I told her that Toti will mail her the yahoo site so that both of them can have more things to talk about...he, he, he! By the way, I have never seen an e-mail address longer than MaryNat's. Please don't ask me!

Welcome again MaryNat...From the tone of Dan's welcome to you, mukhang mas batang kinakapatid mo siya...wow, I would not believe this unless you confirm this yourself....I do not know what the others would say, ha Men and Marybeth... Irma, Violy, Alot and Tess...Dan, we should try and bring MaryNat to our Yahoo Messenger...do you have a short address in Yahoo Messenger
MaryNat (alangan pa rin ako, I used to call you Dasco way back then, and everytime I pass by Dasma, I always remember you, he, he, he)? Hugssss am preparing for my 4 week trip to Indonesia and will depart on Friday morning.
I hope that I will be connected all the time...well, I hope. Hugsssss again.

Sorry to everyone: Marynat's Post is not chronologically arranged. I was excited to already create the Post for her even before I completed tracing the Marynat-related thread of emails.

Hi Toti,

Another job for the search and locate committee. Marynat? Who knows where she is and how she can be contacted. I hope she can also be located.

danny,

that's a difficult assignment. nobody can't seem to locate marynat. Bert suggested that we make a public service announcement in WOW-WOWIE! We still have to decide if it's Susan,Alot, Mendy or Baby who will make the panawagan, pang-world wide iyan.

seriously, we will try to ask around.

Dear Danny,

If and when we find Marynat, perhaps we should open a detective agency for missing persons, what do you think? She seems to be the most difficult person to locate. Hope our committee can locate her. I miss her, too.

Hi Toti,

Okay, since you are all for the BLOG, when can we see the start of it? By the way Toti, do you have the e-mail address of ATE Marynat? I emphazise ATE. Also, if you have her cell phone number or home phone number, can you include it in your next e-mail posting? I have seen all the pictures, and it really brought happiness to me just seeing everyone having fun. I hope 2009 reunion will be an even bigger affair, especially now that those who are based outside PI are now very much aware as to the next reunion date. No more reason not to prepare for that one.Toti, hinay hinay sa San Miguel Beer. For sure during the affair, the stocks of SMB must have gone up tremendously. Regards and take care.

Danny,

Don't worry, I only take San Mig Light, kaya magaan lang iyon.

Marynat's contact no and email address:

manatividaddelrosario@yahoo.com (can you beat that length?)
cp no. +63 917 892 4411

She has already visited our egroup. The other night she said she was looking at the pictures. Di lang nga nagpaparamdam on the internet. She works with the Commission on Audit and is assigned as Resident Auditor of the Securities and Exchange Commission. I don't know how many children she has, but I'm sure meron because I heard her say, "anak, okay na ba (it was her daughter who tried accessing the egroup).

dear Ed and Bert,

Sorry, I was not able to follow. My meeting at DSWD ended past 6 pm and it's quite far from Podium. MaryNat too, was not able to make it. How about Rudy, has he left? He hasn't been responding to the text messages.

Hi, Toti,

we adjourned around 6pm. it's ok, besides, traffic at edsa was quite bad as usual. No, Rudy didn't come or respond. Not sure if he got the SMS. hopefully in the next meeting, you can escort our new-found lady, Marynat.

cheers,

A warm welcome to you, Marynat ! This is your classmate- kababayan, Bert (Bob) Padrigon.

How have you been all these years? Hope all's well and great with you and your family. My assignment given last Sat. night by the Daet group, is to track you, come low or high water !

your presence during our next reunion (first weekend of Feb '09) has been declared mandatory, Marynat (barring any fortuitous event..etc..) , just for your info and guidance.

Boboy Ong solved my homework in less than 24 hours. therefore while I plan to give you a welcome rose when we see you, I owe Buboy a six-pack San Mig light when I next see him !

Meantime, we await your news / email postings on this egroup.

FINALLY, HERE IS THE MESSAGE OF THE LONG LOST SISTER:

Apr 19, 2007

To my beloved classmates of DPS Batch 67!!

Hi and hello!! Thanks for your welcome messages to me, your long lost classmate and friend. For the past two days, I have been reading your exchange of messages and have been reviewing the posted pictures both old and new. Wow! Grabe, I really salute the group for maintaining this kind of communication where everybody is free to say something as long as she is not lazy like me to open the computer, he.he.he.

Let me share the feelings I had when I received the text message of Alot last April 16th. I immediately called her and we talked probably for 45 minutes. While on the phone, Meldy (Mendy) also sent a text message, and so did Tess. I also called them up and we exchanged some pleasantries. Later, that was the time I came to realize that on your part dear classmates, I was really your most sought after but never heard from member of the group. On that day also, I was able to talk to Toti, Ed, and Boboy. Late the following day I had a long chat with Rudy. The next day, it was Dra. Yollie who gave me a call. Mila Echano, likewise sent me a text message. Lastly, when i was able to gain access to our e-google group ‘coz of my making kulit to Toti, I was so touched when I viewed the old photos and welcome messages of my kinakapatid na si Danny, Myrna and Irma. Thank you very much Guys. Promise to attend our 2009 reunion, if God permits.

Sori Bert, for not attending your invitation last night. Happy trip Ed. Ingat always. God Bless.

Mendy, please update info on those who attended the Reunion.

Thanks also.

Welcome and better late than never! I don't know if we have been at DPS together, I was at DPS only on my 1st year & 2nd year (1963-65), but since the group accepted me as a member, I would like to also formally welcome you to this egroup.

Thanks and Regards,

Welcome again MaryNat,

Sooo glad to hear from you. This is Marybeth, remember? You are one of those who we never heard from after graduation. How's your Mom? My Mom sends her love.Let us know more about you. I would love to talk to you one of these days if I can ever find the message with your telephone number. Hello...anybody there who knows MaryNats phone #, pakibato naman this way.

MaryNat, do you know that I have managed to avoid the computer all these years until this group was started by Toti? Even at work, the data center hates me when I have to call them with any problem because a 10 minute job becomes an hour long. But now, I can actually open and read everybody's messages, and manage to email back. The incentive was getting in touch with long lost friends. So don't be a stranger again.

Love hugs and misses.

Hi Beth,

A while ago, I was composing a reply to your message but an error occurred, so sorry again.
I praise and thank God for the time we had chatted on the phone last Sunday. You know if there is a will, there will be a way. Also, thanks again to our classmates who are behind this egroup coz there is now an open communication among all of us.

I was really surprised receiving a call from your husband saying that the call would be a surprise for you. So, "dalawa tayo na nagulat, nasorpresa at naexcite, he,he,he".

Please tell Mommy Beth that Mama had already joined our Creator in 2002. Remember, why I called your mom Mommy Beth? Every summer vacation, I spent time studying piano lessons under your Mom and at the same time stayed in your house in Daet with Bobby coz you used to spend vacation in Albay.

Anyway, so much for the past. . . Hope to see u in 2009. I am looking forward to that big day for us, class 67.

Hi MaryNat,

It was a real surprise hearing you on the other end of the line. That really made my day.
After our long talk, I told Mommy the sad news about your mom. She remembers her as a good friend and is sad that she passed away already. She sends her love to you.

Are you all done with the move? It will take sometime for everything to fall in place, so just take it easy.

Well my dear, it's good to know that this is only the beginning of yet another chapter in our lives, and find old friends back in it. We all are blessed.

Love,hugs and misses,

May 3

dear classmates,

I attended a meeting at the Commission on Audit Main Office at 10 am up to 12 noon today. Guess who I met along the corridor after the meeting? MARYNAT! yes, finally, i got the chance to see and talk with our elusive classmate. She's a few tons healthier (did i say tons, sorry marynat, pounds lang, yes, pounds lang talaga!). Nothing to worry, you're in good company with susan, mendy, men, and alot.

Marynat said she was not able to attend the despedida for fechie because she was busy with the transfer of residence to Cavite. I'm sure, she'll try her best not to miss our next mini-reunion. (I still
have to give out copies of the vcd to the rest of you guys in manila). I already sent ten copies to Daet (slightly improved version compared to what was sent to the US).

it was a hurried chat as she had to go back to her meeting, and I had to leave with the DSWD staff who were waiting. Chance meeting? Tess, may have an explanation for this.

By the way, last May 1 and 2, there was no electricity in Daet, according to Mendy. She said there were rumors, that the NPAs bombed a power station in Quezon. There was no such report though on TV. I hope power has already been restored, otherwise, they have to bear the 36 degrees temperature without any electric fan or aircon.

Cheers.

Toti,

That was some great coincidence! It really is a small world.

I got the chance to speak to Marynat while I was waiting for my flight at the Mabuhay lounge for PAL passengers. She called me and it was a delight to hear her voice again after 40 years. She sincerely hopes that she will be present in our next reunion.

Yes classmates, let's all pray for Marynat. She says she kept on postponing this surgery. She had her MRI last February because of severe pain she suffered last January 10. This, she explains, is the reason why she has lessened her social activities. And she regrets that we were able to contact her only this April 17 when she's not in the best of health. Anyway, there's plenty of time once you've recovered Marynat to once again enjoy the company of your classmates.

For the Manila group, let's visit Marynat at the Capitol Medical Center Thursday or Friday? Capitol Medical is along Quezon Avenue (from EDSA, going to Quiapo, it's on the left side, before reaching the former Delta Theater). Would you be available Alot, Bert, Tess, Rori, Lina, and Baby?

Two days after her operation, Ate Marynat now looks fine. She can already sit on her bed. In fact, she was sitted the whole time that we were there in her room.

We refers to Bert, Rory, Felino and myself who visited Marynat this afternoon. There were no dramatic moments - no crying, crying. On the contrary, we were laughing most of the time as we watched the
videos of the old and recent pictures of our classmates.

We met Bien, Marynat's husband, as well as one of her four daughters. (The couple have two sets of twin daughters (a total of four girls), and a son. Finally, you'll see them by again visiting my photo
gallery. The gallery now contains all the pictures that we have gathered so far. This is better than the egroup's files folder. Here the photos are organized by subject.

It was fun hearing Felino/Ibot recall the high school days – that Marynat hardly smiled then (kaya ibareta ko daa na nagngingirit na si Marynat); that Bert was really good and already high-falutin even
before; and of all things, what he recalls about me is that I was good at sipa (matibay daa ako maski daing babaan nin bitis). I really can't recall, may selective memory na garo ako. But we really had a
hearty laugh listening to Ibot's account.

Marynat also recalled her college days - that she stayed in Maning's boarding house in Recto (?) but didn't see Maning; and confirmed Danny's kwento about her former boardmate.

We're sure that when she has fully recovered, she'll be able to join the Manila group in our get-togethers. This early, she has committed to attend the 2009 Reunion, and Bien has confirmed this. At si Marynat na ang nagsasabi na dapat, mayong ma-absent! Jebong will be happy, there's another never-before attendee (just like me, Bert and Rudy) who's now determined to attend the reunion.

Ok, classmates, visit the photo gallery if you want to see Marynat.

dear classmates,

marynat was finally discharged from the Capitol Medical Center last May 15. Next to God, she wants to thank all of you for your prayers. Their landline at home is out of order, so she has no access to the
internet. Nahihiya daw sya na baka sabihin nyo hindi na naman siya nagpaparamdam.

Special thanks daw to Alot and her husband Ric who visited her last Saturday, and Tess last Sunday, and to the boys who visited her last Thursday - Bert, Rory, Felino and I.
