The Prime of Ms. Fechie Alarcon

s
april 5, 2007

Hi Irma,

In case you may have forgotten, let me reintroduce myself to you. I am Fechie ( this sounds a little more sophisticated) than Fe Alarcon then. I migrated and has resided in SF, CA since 1974. I work in Nursing Administration at a hospital closest to the SF airport and also a faculty in a local college for the Nursing Dept. I had been divorced for so long, had an only child but died at the age of seven. I'm living singly but been too busy to think of being alone. Don't have time for that! My brothers and sisters are all here in US and close by so my support system is great.

I travel to the Phil. at least once a year for medical mission purposes. It also allows me to visit other relatives there. I have lots of things to catch up with you but I am at work right now and I need to run soon. Tell you more next mail.

So, let me know about yourself too. I missed your gregarious laughter during our younger days.

Welcome again and keep in touch.

Fechie

Hello Classmates,

Hi there. Just got back from Daet and had a chance to get together with some our our classmates from grade school and high school at Deat Parochial School now LCC. It was great seeing them after so many years. I go home to Daet quite often but just don't have the luxury to stay longer and be able to connect with our classmates while there.

Anyway, got your email addresses from Mendy (Balon) Ching and hope you don't mind me reconnecting with you. I am Fe (Fechie) Alarcon and now residing in U.S. since 1974. I've been single and living alone. I had an only child who passed away 13 years ago. I worked at a nearby hospital as a nursing supervisor and also a faculty at a local college of nursing. It's tough living alone but I'm used to it now plus my family are just miles near. My work and school schedule are hectic that I rarely home anyway. I travel to the Phil at least once a year for a medical mission. In fact, I was just in Bohol for that reason.

Mendy and the group in Daet are coordinating our 40th year class reunion. I have previous commitment around that time but I am so excited to see old familiar faces again and I'll do my best to be there. Hope you too can be there.

I would be delighted hearing from you soon one way or another. You can email me back or call me or text me at 650-219-3212 or 650-756-9158.

PLs. share me our classmates whereabouts if you have them.

Looking forward to your message. God bless.

Fe or Fechie

Maybe I am just getting very emotional that every time i read emails from classsmates esp. those that I haven't heard from for ages, my heart leaps with joy. I get reallly excited. Or maybe like what people say, when one gets older, one becomes more sentimental and emotional. I never felt like this with my intimate relationship but I do with our classmates. Now I lnow, you are all my long lost loves!!! Ha-ha-ha!

Well, my dear classmates, do keep those emails coming. It keeps me from my solitude.

Hi Toti,

Which brother of Fetchie is dying? Did she already know about his illness? Too bad her short escapade had to end in sadness. I guess all we can do is offer a prayer.

Marybeth

Daet Parochial School Class 67 said...

Hi Guys,

Fechie's brother 's name is Armando, Her eldest brother. He had been very sick since March and Fechie knows he's is dying. I've been praying for him ever since I learned about it. Let's all pray for him and for Fechie. take care all and best regards to your loved ones.

Men

Yes, the brother's name is Armando, who's next to the Msgr according to Fechie. "Memorial services not firmed up yet. Will be rescheduling flight back to the US." This was Fechie's text. So this means, his brother has died.

Hi Toti,

I still check my e-mail every 15 minutes hoping that someone from our egroup have posted a message. You see, I readily respond to your latest e-mail. Anyway, I hope that the egroup's condolences to Fechie could somehow alleviate some of the pains that she is feeling right now. As everyone have said, Armando is in a better Hands now. Maiba ako Toti, di ba si Armando was one our Religion teachers? Toti, don't get tired in sending us e-mail messages. You are the biggest factor for establishing this new found happiness that we are experiencing thru e-mails. Ikaw rin ang aming connection sa mga kaibigan natin diyan sa 'Pinas. Stay safe and healthy.

Guys, how come the exchanges of emails seemed to have declined? I had been quiet for sometime due to unavailability of internet access in Bicol. But now I'm baccckkkk and anxiously checking to see your emails again. So keep it going!

I chatted with Men late yesterday while I was at work. Hinayang na hinayang siya about missing the big reunion. She said that since we are sending out notices re: the next reunioon with plenty of time, hopefully, the turnout will be bigger aand better. So, ok guys start making plans now.

Hugs, kisses and cheers!

Welcome Back Fetchie,

You sure did not waste any time , in fact your long message made up for the short absence. I have been looking forward to hear your version of the reunion. We really should meet again after you've recovered from your exhausting trip. Nothing can bit a verbal account of the event. Iba na yung may kasamang facial expressions. Mas exciting siempre. So lets set a date for the California group to meet again. Let us know when you're ready.

Going over the photo gallery of Toti, and reading the highlights from all of you made it possible for us to capture the fun and excitement. And you're right,we did miss out on this. But,you can be sure I'll be there in 2009.

Well, get some rest. See you soon.

Hi Marybeth,

Thanks for the welcome back wishes. I'm all rested now and back to work.

I'm all for us here in California to meet again. Since we did the first time here in SF, I don't mind having to do this towards Benicia or Sacramento. I wonder when Rudy will be flying again to SF. It will be nice to have hkm around or anyone who can join us. Would you prefer meeting weekend vs. weekdays? Let me know and I'll check my availability.

Hope to hear from Men, Joe S., Allan M. and Herminia re: this.

My best to you and the family. I'll mail the stuff from Alot and Tess plus the CD this friday unless you're planning to come my way.

Hello Fetchie,

Wala kang kapagod pagod. Saludo ako sa stamina mo.

Anyway, I talked to Joe today, and he is with us meeting again soon. He also talked to Danilo so he could join us. however, he told me that you will be in charge of finding out Rudy's next flight to SF. I'm sure Men will be in touch soon. Just want to let you know that my husband is planning to take me to Hawaii from the 12th to the 17th for our anniversary, so please let's plan after that week.

I am off on all weekends now..... for giving 20 years of my career and life to he County Hospital. He! He! And so is everybody else,I'm quite sure, unless someone became a nurse under cover. How about you? If you still do some weekends, maybe we should plan around your schedule. All we need is Rudy's schedule for the coming months.

We can decide the venue once we know the date,OK?

By the way, Joe mentioned that he may drop by SF this Saturday to pick up the CDs. He should be contacting you about his plan, so hold off mailing the stuff for us ( Men, Joe and me).

Hope to see you soon.

Welcome back Fechie and it was soooo nice to hear your voice again. Joe and I were talking about our CA Reunion Part II. If everybody agrees we can have it here in Sacramento. Let's try to check everybody's schedule, like Leo, Allan and Danny (they said they want to join us as long as we give them ample time to prepare), Marybeth, Herminia, and yourself. Joe wants it middle of May or whatever time you guys prefer. Please let us know. Let us welcome back our representative to the DPS Ruby Reunion. Thanks again Fechie.

Alot and Tess, thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. You guys never change, you're still the same girls I've met 40 years ago.

Toti, my friend, once again thank you for all you've done for this affair.

To the Daet and Manila Groups = A big hug from CA group and Dios Mabalos for everything.

Hugs,

Irma and Violeta, where are you this days? Come back to the loop. We're eager to hear from you again. Balitan niyo naman kami from that part of the world.

Marybeth and Willy- Happy Anniversary. How many years is this now? Mine only lasted 3 years. Good thing. It wasn't worth keeping it for long. Enjoy your umpteen honeymoon.

Where is Ed now? Haven't read fresh emails from him. Are you traveling some more or just not into it for the moment?

Rudy- or anyone who would be in contact with him soon- when are you scheduled to fly to SF? We need to hear from you soon, since we are planning Part 11 CA reunion. We'd like to have it during the time that you're around. Mas marami, mas masaya! Plus ikaw daw ang taya! (Biro lang.). Miss lang namin ang leadership mo. So let us know soon.

I'll be seeing Joe S. tom. to pick up the CDs and padala for Men and Marybeth. I'll give a copy for Allan also kahit hindi nakasama sa bilangan. Dyahe naman. Nagpadala pala ng donation for the affair. I'll just give my copy. Toti, just give me another one when I visit you. Yung updated version, ok? O, baka naman taguan mo ako. Hindi naman kita pipikutin! He-he-he!

Bert- how come I did not know that you were in Ateneo during our college? Sta. Isabel ako for 5 years! Kaya lang I was an intern, kaya siguro hindi tayo nagkita. Kung alam ko lang! I should not have wasted my time with the seminarians. Afterall, mga walang mga b... yung mga yon. Just kidding!!

Men- my secret for stamina? Natural juice! Hep, hep-not the one you have in mind, ok? Actually, the real secret is I stay away from taking medicines and just enjoy life as much as I can. That includes my love for ballroom dancing. That's my workout!

Tess, Alot, Mendy, Susan and others, sulat naman diyan o. I can just imagine another great time you will have at the forthcoming outing at the local Boracay. Inggit ako! Pls. take pictures and share them with us. Be safe tho.

OOOOOOoooppppssss. Mahaba na ito. Bye and regards.

dear fechie,

first, on Ed Canela. He's probably in an internet quiet zone. I think he's in Aceh, Indonesia. Then, he'll still proceed to Palestine and Montenegro. But occasionally, when he's in an area where there's
internet connection, he does sends an email.

sure, i'll give you an updated one. actually, the version i sent to DAet is already updated. It also includes an additional video of the 25th year reunion, with additional pictures provided by mendy. Mendy will be sending me copies of other classmates' solo and family pictures as they have agreed in their last meeting.

There's P49,000+ left from the contributions. We still have to discuss what would be the best form of assistance to Teresita Quiozon. Mendy says she has five kids and her husband does not have a permanent job. With regards to Joe C., others have expressed reservations to the idea of providing him with some financial help.

recently divorced from an American wife and his name - you wouldn't believe it
PERFECTO BOO COMPLETO! May konting problema, he is missing half of his
left ear, missing one right finger (pero hindi yong middle) and his hair is ala Donald
Trump.
2. A lawyer-white, single tall, dark, very rich-charges $850/hour, 2 houses in Sacramento,
a vacation house in Hawaii but has one flaw - hindi mo puwedeng ipakilala pag may ilaw.

Hi my dear classmates,

Just got back from Jagna, Bohol Phil for another week long medical mission. We treated nearly a thousand patients. Have conducted blood pressure and Diabetes screening and provided them medicines for 3 months use. Medication refill is provided by us thru the local municipal office with track record. We also brought this time a Prosthetician (one who makes prosthetic legs or arms) and fitted patients with artificial legs/arms or braces. Stroke and polio patients benefited from this. For 3 seering hot days, we went to 3 different barangays to treat indigent kababayans. Our team this time is primarily comprised of foreigners. I was the only Filipino. One major reason why I have to go despite that I was just there last Feb. doing the same thing. I need to support these enthusiastic and philanthropic individuals who are willing to help our people. We ended the week with an overnite stay at the Bohol Bee Farm, a resort close to Panglao and serves only organic food. The cottages and houses are magnificent and no 2 places alike. It is like going through a labyrinth. Super ganda ang view and the surroundings are so full of natural beauty. It is a place for lovers and romantics. Ehem-ehem! Overall, despite the toasty weather, it was a success and a gratifying feeling to be able to help the poor and share what I can.

On a lighter note, catching up with all the email exchanges and the updates from our blogsite, I need at least a day to read them. Thus, why I am just responding now. It is so nice to hear from most of you again.

FAJ- I had a blast reading your kilometric message. Ako pala ay niluluto nyo na! Di bale, let's see what might come sooner or later. Toti, anong say mo? He-heh-he! Joke only.
With regards to our meeting before, you say in '92? I still don't recall. Perhaps, I had an onset of Alzheimer's then. Sige na nga, mas matibay ang memory mo kesa akin. Imagine, you even remembered that I had Danny's check for his donation to the affair. Wow! And by the way, I like your commentaries in our blog site. Galing mo p're.

Men-congratulations on your new achievement. No doubt, you always do great in whatever you do. Mabuhay si Men! Mabuhay ang Batch '67!

Danny- my apology for not being able to re-mail the class CD soon enough. I got caught in my hectic schedule plus traveling back to PI again. I promise to do it soon. Sabagay, the pictures in the CD are all at Toti's Gallery and for sure you have visited that site and viewed them already. Nevertheless, I will still mail it to you with the correct address. And by the way, with or without hair guwapo parehas. Besides, it is not through the man's hair to a woman's heart but to........ I'll let you guys figure out the rest.

To the Manila based classmates- regretfully, I was not able to meet with you due to time constrain. I did not even have time to visit any mall and do shopping. Wala tuloy akung pasalubong sa mga US classmates natin. Next time na lang mga classmates, ok?

Tess- we'll do our ballroom dancing on my next visit. I'll make sure I will have enough time so we can have a good time. Can someone pls. teach Toti to dance the Rumba so next time we can dance together? Ha-ha-ha! Joke only Toti. Wag mapikon ha?

Bert- how's our brilliant CEO? I look forward always to your literary wit. Just like Toti, I wish I have even a small portion of your journalistic prowess. Natutulog din yata ako when God distributed that particular gene. Say hello to Marie and Bruce for me.

Rudy- where are you these days? You seem to be unheard of lately. Either you are extremely busy with work or too relaxed to even think of us. Either way, balita naman diyan. My regards to Evelyn and the kids.

To Daet based group- are you having a get together during the fiesta week? Hope evryone is doing fine and in best of health.

Marynat-how's everything with you? Tried to text you back while I was in Bohol but somehow, I was unable to send my message. I don;t know why? Siguro the network connection was not available at that time. Anyway, thank you for correspondig with me.

To Irma, Ningning and Glen-when is your Paracale get together? Sure, you'll have a grand time catching up with one another again. Nagpakita na ba si Glen? Sobrang busy yata ni Glen! Keep bugging her and perhaps she'll get annoyed that she might join you at some point. Don't tell her that I suggested this to you. In case you see her, my best to her.

Rori- glad to hear that you are coping well with the parental challenges. And be assured that as you resolve one, another might sprout again, and a different one this time. However, as you face one, as a parent, you get wiser and stronger that no `problem is bigger than the last. Have I totally confused you? Well, anyway, to any problem, there is always a solution. Di ba mga parents? Take this from a partial mom.

Ed-hilong- hilo na ako sa travel mo! Glad I'm not your secretary. Otherwise, your itinerary will always be behind you. I'm sure jet-lag is not in your vocabulary. And the places that you visit-some of them I have not heard of! You will have to give me a Geography class so I know where these places are. Anyway, we're proud of your achievements and successes. Cheers!

Mahaba ng sobra ito! I better sign off before someone starts yawning reading this.

Take care all of you. To the Daet group-Happy Fiesta. I-kain at i-inom nyo na lang ako!

Fechie Grageda( ooooppssss ALarcon pala!)
