Gosh, those pictures are great! Don't we all look fabulous?

Violeta-thanks for sharing them. Glad you still have a copy. It sure is refreshing to reminisce those youthful days of ours. I really hope I can make it to the reunion pending my elder brother's condition. He is very sick right now at Mother Seton Hospital in Naga City. Pls. include him in your prayers.

Hi group,

Attached are pics taken during my visit to Daet last month. Taken at Kusina ni Angel in Bagasbas.

Despite time and age, we all still look great, don't we?

I have uploaded more "those were the days" pictures in the files folder.

It's a good thing, there wasn't avian/bird flu yet during our time. Otherwise, delikadong maging carrier iyong mga girls. Why? look at the bird's nest on top of their heads!

Thanks also Fechie. I'm enjoying it! I've been writing a report since last night, and posting these pictures is a break for me. It's fun identifying who those grade school kids are.

Dear Toti,

Now that you started this egroup and filing pictures, it sure stirred my curiosity. I am always checking our websites for new files and messages. Good job Toti and thank you much!

Where in the heck did you find these pictures? I'm glad someone have them and it is so cute looking at these youngster who were once us! I for one look so emaciated and starved! Glad I did not stay that way. However, getting rid of the extra pounds now are quite a challenge. I better work hard on self improvement before the reunion just in case I make it. Who knows, maybe I'll meet Mr. Right just right there! He-he-he!

Dear Rory,

It was nice to hear from you. If I am not mistaken, that picture was taken in 1964-65. We were just starting our combo group "THE CHARMETTES", with Glen, Anabelle, Marybeth, Susan and me on the drums, remember? It was really a loooong time ago. I sure want to see you guys again. Do tell me more about yourself.

Take care and regards to all!

I can't find myself in the grade I picture. I thought I spent my Grade I in DPS, definitely not grade 2. I recall that my parents
enrolled me in Kinder and Grade I in DPS until i received my first communion, after which i was transferred to daet elementary school.

Baka absent ako nung picture taking, o ibang section kaya? Baka iyong picture ni Men, section 2, kasi ako section 1! joke lang!

i immediately recognized men and chi-chi (may x kasi sila). But i did recognize rudy, fr. efren, eddie c, susan king, annabelle abano, fechie, glen tamayo, teresita azanes, dorset dwyer and
roberto manly.

Hi Toti,

Here are two pictures taken in 1966 and 1967 that I'd like to share with you all. One was taken during a party at Tony's place and the other one was taken during the JS prom. Keep the exchanges of communication flowing. I love it! Regards to all. I hope those who have not joined the exchanges will start pounding their keyboards soon.

Hi Toti,

Greetings from sunny Orlando!
I'm sending you pictures of my family. My wife's name is Elizabeth. She was from Cubao, QC. We have been married for 29 years now and we have two children. I hope with these pictures, those classmates whom I have not seen for 40 years will know that I'm very much around and still kicking. I will wait for my copy of the CD or the downloading of it on my computer. Thanks and regards. Take care always.

Dear Toti,

This picture was taken before the wedding of my eldest son (standing in the center) last December, 2006. You ask me to send you a picture showing the family. My contribution to mankind. . . There is a proverb that says" to preserve your name in posterity you either 1. Plant a Tree.. 2. Write a Book . 3. Or Bear a Son. I think the last option is still possible for you, unless I don't know something. he-he-he. Joke Only!

Dear Toti,

Have a good story when these pictures were taken. One of my co-workers asked me how I feel when I am surrounded by tall people and some of them seconded like: "Yeah, Myrna how does it feel? and I replied "Well, I feel like a dime among nickels", they looked at each other, turned their back and went to their work stations. How do I feel? They got their answer and ever since nobody dared to ask me about my height again.

Cheers,

Hello Toti and Men,

From the looks of everyone back then, it appears that we were all malnourished by today’s standards. Talaga naman, just consider Toti’s current assessment of Camarines Norte today and look back at the situation then, one would really wonder how we all managed to survive the test of times….well, a few never did reach this period. Grabe! Pero again from the looks of yesteryears, kahit na malnourished, happy and enthusiastic pa rin…beerless pa at that time, pwera lang siguro si Teddy Ong, Cesar Chavez and Oscar Cu…he, he, he.

Dear ed,

This only proves that our batch are survivors. Imagine that: from malnourished kids to healthy adults - mostly gaining 40 pounds! We may have matured a little but we are definitely smarter. Everyone looks happy and prosperous. Let's keep smiling Guys, for we are the lucky ones.

Hi Ed,

This is Marybeth. Have not heard from you since our last long conversation on the phone.
Did you try calling me recently? My daughter answered a call that had bad reception, and the name sounded like Canela. I am having a ball just reading everybody’s exchanges on email. For one who's not computer savvy, I sure appreciate the technology more than ever. You look great in the pictures. Actually, everybody is looking good and ageing well. I have to say though that I was never malnourished looking even in those days. I have always been on the heavy side, or should I say "healthy" ? Ha! Ha!

How I wish I could go to our reunion. I am so homesick looking at all the pictures. If I knew about it earlier, I would have canceled our January trip home.

Daet Parochial School Class 67 said...

Mea Culpa (learned this from Monsignor Reganit) on the malnourished comment, Marybeth…he, he, he. You are one lucky young girl…he, he, he. Well…we can make another one after this big reunion…50 years is another milestone worth achieving….can we still see each other then? How about hearing each other? Understanding? Learning? And finally, acting together as if no one is watching! He, he, he…Hugssss ke Willy and the family.

Just me, Ed Canela…kalog pa rin

Toti,

The Miss Luzon happened in 1963. It was organized to build a new building, which we called the kinder-primary building before (now it is the LCCD building). If you remember, DPS was only one building.

Foundation Day is held every February 28 - birthday of Msgr.Antonino Reganit. We even had a song for him: "February 28, the birthday of the great. We raise our voices high - Mabuhay!, Mabuhay!, Hapy birthday Msgr.! Remember this song guys? I wish I can show you what I have regarding our beloved DPS. Sayang.

Toti and Men,

He knows where to start...but tend to forget the ending in the middle of the sermons...But, one nice thing I learned from him is Latin...the Latin prayers which are still used in many parts of the world. Sometimes, I surprise my German friends when I am able to shower them with dashes of Latin words taken from the prayers (Remember, pater Noster...que es sin coeli...sanctifitivor nomen tuum...adveniat regnum...) of Monsignor Reganit...Lovely.

Dear Ed and Toti,

Remember one time, he was in the middle of a mass, then he left and did not come back. Everybody was asking what happened. Maraming hinimatay kasi during that time if you want to receive communion, you can't eat anything 3 hours before the mass plus the sermon would take about an hour and a half - gutom nga ang aabutin mo. Ang bait natin noon, ano? Also remember that his mass would always be cantada, kaya ang tagal.

Hello all,

Wow…this evening was great…Toti and myself plus another special guest star who picture is attached for your whhmmmmm. We almost finished the CD…wow! It is very nice. It is made up of several albums: (a) About Daet, (b) The way we were: Elementary Days (3 Albums) and (c) The Way we were: High School Days (6 Albums). Each album is presented with loads of yesteryears and today’s photos…a treasure to have, I tell you. We owe these to two great people: Toti and all of You who continue to ransack your bauls and take as much of the mementos of the past out in the open and voluntarily donate to the group…great!
