Hi Fetchie,

Much as I wanted to attend your mini-reunion there in SFO, I just can't. I have committed myself to man my open houses this week and the coming week. These have been put off due to my last vacation. However, I'm really thinking hard about attending the reunion in Daet. In fact, in my desire to find a good fare to Manila, I found the promo of Cathay Pacific for anyone 55 years and older. The fare is $1100 (out of SFO,LAX or Kennedy). Anyway, just like everyone, I will wait for pictures of your reunion there. Please extend my regards to Rudy, Joe, Myrna, Herminia, Marybeth, Allan and of course to you.

Hi All,

We finally had our first CA reunion here in SF at Marriot Hoyel where Capt. Rudy is housed. It was exciting to see familiar and not so familiar faces. He was so cordial and accommodated us all to the VIP lounge of the hotel with booze and all.

In attendance were: Marybeth R. with hubby Willie; Joe S. with wife; Men V.; Herminia de la Cruz; the Capt of course and myself' We had a grand time reminiscing the good old days especially Rudy's revelation of his ?innocent romantic interludes. Of course, we talked about you guys too. You could just imagine the boisterous laughter as one recounts funny and hilarious encounters. We hated to part ways but some have to drive back many miles to return to home and it was almost midnite.

This marked the beginning of our many more and regular reunion here in US.

Danny- make sure that next time you will be around. We will plan it ahead in conjunction with the Capt.'s schedule para mas bibo kita.

Attached are the pics taken from my camera. Rudy has a lot more pictures taken.

Best regards.

hello everybody,

just want you all to know how much I wish to be there for the reunion. We had a blast in San Francisco remembering the good old days and listening to Surla's secret revelations. Isn't it odd that after all these years ,some of us still call the boys by their last name?

For me, it was a thrill to see Men,Herminia and Surla after 40 years. As for Fetchie and Sales, it must have been at least 10 years as it will be for our classmates who were at our 30 years reunion. Sales and I tried to give details of that celebration including Mr. Idnani's presence, thanks to Zano and Remo. How some of our generous classmates took it to themselves to provide for Mr. Idnani and his family as he slowly deteriorated. We remembered those who made it to that reunion and won't make it this time around...... Anabelle Arce, Ms. Segui, Mr.Idnani and Ramona's husband. On this note we thought of the others who are gone and never got the chance to even take part in this......like Cynthia Pajarillo, Antonio De Belen and maybe more.
Men brought mementos of the past....and we all tried to recall events around them. I can't believe that Surla compared Susan, Glen and me with the "Mean Girls". Not that I've watched the movie, but the title says it all. We now know what some of the boys talk about after parties, where we rank on their list of beauties, who they think is smart etc. etc. There was so much to talk about in such a short time. So we all agreed that this will be the start of more get-together's for us here.

For those of you who plan to visit the Bay Area, know that there are some of us here who can be just as hospitable. To Susan,Mendy,Remo, Yoly,Boboy, Estring and all....many thanks for the mini reunion you orchestrated in such a short time for me. That was the highlight of my visit. I so look forward to seeing you all again soon. Grageda, thank you again for making this possible.

God bless
Marybeth

thanks marybeth for finally joining the chit-chat, and giving us a glimpse of the San Francisco Reunion (together with the photos sent by fechie). yes, i do recall that the boys called each other by their
surnames - surla, padrigon, sales, canela, rios, and yet called the girls by their nicknames. why was that?

after 40 long years, we finally got to see the captain ... and he still looks like Surla of the high school days, you'll never mistake him for anybody else. it did not take the ladies much prodding for rudy to let us into the "secret revelations" mentioned by marybeth.

we had a grand time recalling the past and getting updated on the present... over a sumptuous lunch of filipino food, which must have added a few more pounds to our otherwise......... healthy bodies.

we only had about 2 and a half hours, and that was too short, we'll just continue with the stories in April.

I'll uploading the pictures in the files folder, but for the benefit of those who're having difficulty opening it, i'll attach the pictures three at a time.

Fechie,

Kudos to our batch. I remember Roger Panotes once told me that our batch was the most successfull one. I think it is still true to this date. Imagine, most of us made it. What I like most about us, is our camaraderie. And I am so proud of it. So friends, let's keep it up.
