Goodbye Michael

Michael Jackson's death was the biggest news last Friday. I came back to the hotel in the evening and that was the shocking news that greeted me when I tuned in to BBC News (there's no CNN channel in my hotel). In spite of his popularity and wealth (and unfortunately debts towards the end), he must be one of the loneliest persons in the world. Let's just hope and pray that he's finally home and can truly rest in peace.

I had the chance to watch Michael Jackson as a kid, when the Jackson 5 performed in the Folk Arts theatre sometime in the mid-70s. It was Feb 14 but I can't recall if it was 1975 or 76. He wasn't 'white' then.

I have several favorite MJ songs, among which are Heal the World, Ben (I saw the movie, daga pala si Ben), We are the World, I'll be There, She's Out of My Life, etc.) I am posting the lyrics of HEAL THE WORLD, and the audio of the song from the You Tube. Hope you like it.

Regards to you all, it's my third Sunday now here in Indonesia. I hope to be able to go back to Manila on the week of July 6. See you when we meet with Lyn, there.

spoken:
Think about the generations and to say we want to make it a better
world for our children and our children's children. So that they know
it's a better world for them; and think if they can make it a better
place.

There's a place in your heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could be much
Brighter than tomorrow.
And if you really try
You'll find there's no need to cry
In this place you'll feel
There's no hurt or sorrow.
There are ways to get there
If you care enough for the living
Make a little space, make a better place.

Chorus:
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me and the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for
You and for me.

If you want to know why
There's a love that cannot lie
Love is strong
It only cares for joyful giving.
If we try we shall see
In this bliss we cannot feel
Fear or dread
We stop existing and start living
Then it feels that always
Love's enough for us growing
Make a better world, make a better world.

Chorus:
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me and the entire human race.
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for
You and for me.

Bridge:
And the dream we would conceived in
Will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in
Will shine again in grace
Then why do we keep strangling life
Wound this earth, crucify it's soul
Though it's plain to see, this world is heavenly
Be God's glow.

Kap Rudy's Advance Birthday Celebration

These were the pictures taken during the advance birthday blow-out of Rudy, with Ineng, Baby Banaria-Trinidad, Tess, and myself in Greenbelt, Makati. Maning had already left for Daet, Ate Marynat had a conference, Ed and Bert were still out of da country, Alot was still resting, and Ebo was with her mother who was then confined at St. Luke's Hospital, they could not attend the impromptu party. Rudy and Ineng just called around lunch time and past 4 pm, the lucky ones were gathered.

What's the color of Richard Gere's hair? Bako bagang ka-buhok ni Rudy?
Siyempre bida si Kap, kaya dakol pictures. May naka-smile, medyo serious. Don't worry Kap, what's another year added to our golden years? May you have many, many, many more years to celebrate and enjoy!

Happy birthday again!
